This Privacy Policy describes how Movil Softwares Inc ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the UK Driving Test Practice mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Plain-English summary: The App is designed to work without an account. We don't sell your data. We collect minimal information needed to make the App work, improve it, and (if you opt in) sync your progress across devices. You can use most of the App fully offline.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

Account details (optional): If you choose to create an account to sync progress, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a one-way hash).
Support correspondence: If you contact us, we keep your message and email address to respond and improve the service.
In-app purchases: Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive a transaction receipt but never see your full payment card details.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Usage data: Quiz results, questions answered, time spent, screens visited, and feature interactions, used to track your study progress and improve the App.
Device and technical data: Device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, crash logs, and anonymous device identifiers.
Approximate location: Derived from your IP address (country/region level only). We do not collect precise GPS location.

1.3 Information we do NOT collect

We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location.
We do not collect biometric data.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the App. Each provider processes data under their own privacy policy:

Apple App Store / Google Play: App distribution, in-app purchases, crash reporting.
Firebase (Google LLC): Crash reporting and anonymous analytics.
Cloud hosting provider: Stores account data and synced progress (encrypted in transit and at rest).

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks. The App does not contain third-party advertising SDKs.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our hosting provider, with reasonable technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. Account data may be stored on servers located in the United Kingdom, the United States, or the European Union. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

No system is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

Anonymous app data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics, then deleted or fully anonymised.
Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Support emails: Retained for up to 24 months.
Purchase records: Retained for 6 years to comply with UK tax law.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, EU GDPR, and CCPA you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Delete your account and associated data ("right to be forgotten").
Export your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent for analytics at any time in the App settings.
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 17 and over (the minimum age to take a car driving test in the UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Cookies and Tracking

The App itself does not use cookies. Our website (if applicable) may use essential cookies for functionality and anonymous analytics cookies that you can decline.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email (for account holders) at least 14 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.

10. Disclaimer

UK Driving Test Practice is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), or the UK Government. Test content is created for educational purposes based on publicly available road rules.
